The old house, built of hand-hewn stone, sits on a knoll and has an open valley in front that affords expansive views. These are special views, indeed. Casa Ascensione’s namesake, Monte Ascensione, is in full view. It’s an iconic Marche mountain with a stepped shape that gives the impression of climbing skyward. Casa Ascensione has a 5,000 sqm. plot. There are a number of shade trees and oak trees. There is an enormous fig tree near the accessory building (50+ sqm of volume to restore as you please). The plot has a fully southern orientation that enjoys full sun cover. The a great plot for establishing grapevines and olive trees and it’s ideal for a pool. The plot is private but not at all isolated. Access is easy, no long roads to build or to maintain after.
Casa Ascensione is located in a terrific area of Le Marche. Classic hill-town, Santa Vittoria, is 5 minutes from the house. Montelparo is near-by. In just over 10 minutes you’re in elegant Servigliano. Panoramic towns Smerillo and Force are easily reached. The entire area is dotted with great places to eat, artisan producers of olive oil, amazing wines and meats, fruit, vegetables and cheeses.
From Casa Ascensione you’re just 25 minutes from provincial capital Fermo and just another 5 minutes beyond to the beaches of Porto San Giorgio and the southern Marche coastline. The Sibillini National Park, home to Monte Ascensione and others, is 40 minutes away. The Ancona airport is reachable in about and hour.
