It’s always a pleasure when in the course of our work we come across something special. Something different from the usual properties. Something that takes you to a different time and place. Something that’s impossible to duplicate. There’s a palazzo in the elegant centro storico of Servigliano that’s all those things. From the moment you enter the palazzo the word that comes to mind is “grandeur”…a property full of character, design touches and decorative elements from another time. We call this unique Marche property Palazzo Grandezza, the Grand Palazzo.
Palazzo Grandezza is located 50m from one Le Marche’s best piazzas. It’s a recently renovated spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath 18th Century palazzo, luxuriously appointed and designed with comfort and opulence in mind. It’s something to see, really. The decorative elements, ceiling moldings, built-in cabinetry, wall panels, ceiling designs, chandeliers, paneled doors, original flooring and lots more make this a very rare property in Le Marche. It’s really like taking a step back in time, but in the context of a renovated and upgraded property. Imagine your own palazzo with all these decorative touches, built into a city wall that dates from the 1600s. Our video link below shows all of this in great detail.

Let’s start with the outside at Palazzo Grandezza. As mentioned, it’s 50m from the piazza. Its entrance is in the corner of a street in the centro storico. The entrance is unassuming, even more so when you open the main door and start to see what the palazzo offers! Outside this main door the owners will frequently place a table and chairs, to enjoy some fresh air, a meal, a coffee or a good book. The town’s garden area and piazza are the true outdoor spaces of the palazzo and Servigliano delivers such outdoors spaces in the context of an elegant, well-kept, lively piazza.
From this unassuming exterior, the door opens…you are immediately struck by the grandeur of the staircase. At 1.5 meters wide, open sided and reaching to the chandelier up high on the ceiling, it’s an impressive start. The decorative panels and touches start here, as you climb the stairs. A terrific benefit of Palazzo Grandezza is that once you leave the staircase you enjoy single-floor living. Having 186 sqm. of space, all the rooms, all the amenities, all on one floor makes for easy, civilized living.
The palazzo is arrayed in three sections – the central part is the main living space. This is flanked on one side by a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. On the other side there are 2 big guest bedrooms, a family bathroom and a utility room/laundry with a sauna cabinet. The central area is compromised of a big, open, well-appointed living room/lounge and dining area with high ceilings. The dining table is positioned overlooking a balcony onto the staircase, creating a sense of light and open space. Also found here is the kitchen, a sizable “eat-in” kitchen that is well-equipped and has s beamed ceiling. Moving to the master suite section of Palazzo Grandezza you find a big bedroom and an eclectic master bath that includes a hydromassage shower. To the other side are the spacious guest bedrooms – one with a “serious” color scheme and the other with a “frivolous” one! A long corridor connects these with the bathroom and utility room. The aforementioned design elements are found throughout these rooms.
Moving from history and esthetics to the practical here-and-now, an added benefit of Palazzo Grandezza is that it has lots of NEW elements. The roof is new. The windows are new. The boiler is new (the house is heated using gas-powered radiators). The electrical system is new. So, while the grandeur of Palazzo Grandezza is found in its numerous design touches, it’s nice to know that you won’t need to touch the vast majority of practical things at the palazzo, as they’ve already been sorted. Note, too, that you can install a new high speed internet connection at the palazzo AND that free parking is available just a few steps away.
Heading out of Palazzo Grandezza you get to enjoy the piazza of Servigliano. It’s a stunning Baroque town recognized as one of the best piazzas in Le Marche. It has a large square shape, flanked by a series of buildings, headed by the arched frontal section of the teatro comunale. The buildings are regulated for external appearance, signage and other elements that give the piazza an elegant, cared-for look. Servigliano has a weekly market and is the site of many cultural, culinary, musical and even sporting events. Amazingly, the piazza has in recent years hosted concerts by Sting and Deep Purple, to name a few. It also stays true to its cultural past with the 9 day festival in August – “Torneo Cavalleresco” (Knights Tournament) – which offers wonderful entertainment. The torneo sees the town divided into “Rioni” (districts) who do battle with each other for annual bragging rights. The centro storico boasts all types of shopping and services. There are 2 supermarkets, 3 restaurants, 3 bars and numerous small shops.
Servigliano is also a central location for enjoying all there is to sip, sample and see in Le Marche! It’s a crossroads town between the mountains out west toward Amandola (25 minutes) and beyond, and, out to the coast heading east toward provincial capital Fermo (20 minutes) and the beaches of Porto San Giorgio (30 minutes). There are multiple classic hill-towns all within 5-20 minutes of Servigliano, all offering their own charms and places to eat. The Ancona Airport is 1 hour away. The Pescara and Perugia Airports are equidistant at around 90 minutes from Servigliano.
So, if you’d like to take a break from the present while making a grand entrance into the past, just open the door to Palazzo Grandezza and see what awaits you!
